Sister WivesChristine Brown got real about why she thinks Janelle Brown didn’t leave Kody Brown sooner — and it’s all about finances.

Christine, 51, went into detail with her brothers about her 2021 split from Kody, 54, during the Sunday, November 19, episode of the TLC series, explaining that she was financially independent when they called it quits.

“Kody and I talked about what to do with the property and my house before I left. So I was like, ‘Why don’t I keep all of the money from the proceeds of the sale of my house and then I’ll turn the property back over to the family?’” she recalled, referring to their Coyote Pass land in Arizona. “So financial wise, it was very easy for me to walk away.”

Sister Wives’ Christine Brown and Janelle Brown formed a strong friendship before — and after — their respective splits from Kody Brown. Janelle’s situation, however, is a little more complicated. “I believe that’s the biggest reason why Janelle is staying with Kody is because she has nothing in her name,” Christine said. “And the [Coyote Pass] property, Kody’s name is on every piece of property.”

In a confessional of her own, Janelle, 54, said she felt stuck monetarily as the family’s land had yet to be paid off — and no one had started to build as planned.

“I’m stuck here with really nothing that’s free and clear in my name,” Janelle admitted in a confessional interview. “I’m jointly titled on these pieces with other members of the family.”

While lack of income and financial stability did play a part in keeping her with Kody, Janelle pointed to her faith as a deterrent as well.

“I don’t know, like, life is short,” Janelle told Christine and her siblings on Sunday’s episode, noting, “We were raised in a culture where marriage is forever. It’s been a harder thing to, like, reconcile.”

It looks like Jonathan Taylor Thomas will be home for Christmas.

Thomas, 42, was spotted out and about near his Southern California residence on Wednesday, November 29, according to photos obtained by Page Six. The ‘90s heartthrob rocked a tan Lacoste sweater over a green shirt and denim while sipping a drink and heading into a local convenience store. He finished off the laid-back look with a dark beanie, glasses and a pair of sneakers.

Wednesday’s outing marks the first time in two years that Thomas has been spotted in public. Prior to being photographed walking his dogs in Los Angeles in January 2021, the former child star hadn’t been seen for nearly eight years.

Thomas, who began acting in 1987 at the age of 7, shot to stardom with various films like 1995’s Man of the House and 1997’s Wild America. He also portrayed middle child Randy Taylor on 7 seasons of Home Improvement opposite Tim Allen before exiting the series early to focus on school.

When attending the Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards in 1999, Thomas opened up about his decision to step back from acting, telling press, “Had I stayed at the show and tried to do academically what I’m doing now, I would’ve, you know, put myself in an early grave.”

Thomas attended both Harvard and Columbia University before taking a few smaller roles in recent years, guest starring on 8 Simple Rules and Veronica Mars and lending his voice to six episodes of Nickelodeon’s The Wild Thornberrys. Between 2013 and 2015, he reunited with Allen, 70, for four episodes of Last Man Standing. He also directed three episodes of the sitcom.

“You can’t be trapped in this bubble called the acting industry,” Thomas told Premiere magazine in 1996 about his desire to step out of the spotlight. “The industry is neurotic and weird, and so when I go home and I play basketball with my friends, I’m not Jonathan Taylor Thomas. I’m just Jonathan. I don’t like hanging out with other actors and actresses.”

While Thomas has separated himself from the industry, many of his former castmates have opened up about their desire to work with the actor again. Thomas’ former Wild America costar Devon Sawa exclusively told Us Weekly in 2019 that he’d love for the duo to work together on another project.

“We should totally do a TV show or something. I don’t know if he wants to act anymore, I don’t know what he’s doing,” Sawa told Us at the time. “I need to have a serious one-hour lunch sit-down, figure out what that guy wants to do! ‘You should be acting! Forget this Harvard nonsense, you should be acting!’”

Kelsea Ballerini’s ‘How Do I Do This’ Video Teases Chase Stokes 1st Date on December 2, 2023 at 1:23 am Us Weekly

Published

Kelsea Ballerini slipped into her best little black dress as she prepared for her first date in her official “How Do I Do This (The Final Chapter)” music video.

“They say to get out with the old, you get in with the new / And I haven’t been on a date since I was 22,” Ballerini, 30, starts off singing in the Friday, December 1, video, while wearing sweatpants following her divorce from Morgan Evans. “My friend has a friend and they say they’re my type / And then they texted me once / And then they texted me twice / Saying, ‘Are you free Saturday? I know a spot’ / So, I typed out a couple million ways to respond / But I landed with ‘Yes’ / S—t, so where the hell is my dress?”

After nervously texting her future date — which she’s previously hinted was now-boyfriend, Chase Stokes — Ballerini gets dolled up in a Cinderella blue dress while dreaming about the possible new romance. She continues to primp and sing to herself in the mirror before chopping off her long locks as part of her new phase post-divorce.

In the video, the country singer rocks multiple fairy tale gowns in her room before settling on a sexy LBD and sipping wine in the bathroom. When the doorbell rings and Ballerini smirks in her mirror and then pauses before walking to meet her new man.

Ballerini released the song “How Do I Do This (The Final Chapter)” in August as part of her Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (For Good) EP.

The initial album came out in February and documented Ballerini’s divorce from Evans, 38, which was finalized in November 2022. The twosome were married for nearly five years before their split.

While many of the tracks on the record recalled the hard times Ballerini had to overcome after heartbreak, “How Do I Do This,” is a song about her moving on with boyfriend Stokes, 31, and the nerves she felt before going out on that first date.

While fans of Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans may have been caught off guard by their 2022 split, the country singers had seen the writing on the wall. “I think when there’s a big life decision like that, it’s not a sudden one,” Ballerini told CBS Mornings in October 2022 of what led to her divorce. “And […]

“It’s about the nerves of going into a very unknown world,” Ballerini exclusively told Us Weekly in August of the song. “And, to me, I felt like since I hadn’t really gotten to share my story in my perspective on what had happened in my life yet, that needed to come second. That is part two.”

The Grammy nominee explained: “I felt like I really wanted to talk about, you know, the breakup, and let that kind of live in one piece. And then if I ever decided to do what we’re doing now — Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (For Good) — then that would be kind of the extension of the story. And especially now, I’ve been in a new relationship for a while now, and people have seen that. So I feel like it’s a really appropriate time to catch everyone up and to be able to move the narrative from the past to the present.”

Ballerini touches on the butterflies she felt stepping into her post-divorce dating era in the track, singing, “Like, is it wrong to take a shot? / I’m freaking out like ‘Oh, my God’ / ‘Cause now it’s 7:00 on the dot.” She also name-drops Kelly Clarkson in one verse, revealing she called Clarkson, 41, “for a talk” before the big night.

The pair made their red carpet debut in April at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville and have been giving fans glimpses at their romance ever since.
