The Village Day Shoe Drive & Community Celebration

Published

on

This summer, Houston is coming together for a powerful cause-The Village Day & Shoe Drive, a B-Impactful Sneaker Ball Event, happening on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, from 2pm to 5pm at 1003 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77002.

Supporting Children Impacted by Incarceration

This year, we’re focusing on uplifting children whose parents have been impacted by the incarceration system. These young people face unique challenges, and something as simple as a new or gently used pair of shoes can make a world of difference in their confidence and daily lives.

An Unforgettable Community Celebration

The Village Day & Shoe Drive is more than just a collection event-it’s a celebration of hope, unity, and community spirit. Enjoy DJ music, fun activities, and the chance to connect with neighbors, local businesses, and organizations, all working together for a great cause.

Meet Our Special Hosts

We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s event will feature inspiring special hosts, including:

  • Roselyn Omaka – Founder of Bolanle
  • Dakarai Akil – Actor and Director
  • Lindon Victor – Olympic Athlete
  • Desiree Davis – CEO of Desire Change Makers

These community leaders and changemakers will be joining us to support and inspire our youth, making the day even more memorable.

How You Can Help

We invite everyone to donate new or gently used sneakers and formal shoes for girls and boys ages 6–14. Your generosity ensures that every child attending the event leaves with a pair of shoes they can be proud of.

Vendors and Local Businesses Welcome

Are you a local business or vendor looking to make a positive impact? We invite you to participate and show your support for Houston’s youth. Your involvement will help us reach even more children and families in need.

Join Us and Make a Difference

Let’s ensure every child-especially those whose families have been touched by incarceration-has the support and resources they deserve. Come out, donate, and be part of a day that’s all about lifting up our youth-one shoe at a time.

For more information or to sign up as a vendor, contact Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star – Greater Houston or visit our website.

Together, we can make a lasting impact. We hope to see you there!
