Speak Monkey Speak: A Tale of Evolution and Humor
After two decades of living in the Rockies and owning a bookstore, Steve is the creative mastermind behind this captivating tale. He decided to embark on a new journey – screenwriting!
Drawing inspiration from on high — the short fiction of the famous Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges — and low — tough guy, hard-boiled fiction like Raymond Chandler — Steve crafted a story that’s unique — a trip to the zoo and a brawl at Monkey Island, “going to the mattresses” in a scene unworthy of The Godfather — as it is entertaining. It’s filled with whimsy, charm, and a robust dash of sauciness.
This isn’t your average bedtime story; it’s a grown-up adventure that takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Imagine supernatural forces looking down on Earth, deciding it’s time for a fresh start in human evolution. The outcome? A mesmerizing blend of humor, magic, and a touch of romance, all wrapped up in a thought-provoking narrative.
Steve’s characters are influenced by the people who’ve left a mark on his life, like the charismatic musician Christian Serpas from New Orleans.
But here’s the thrilling part: Steve is eager to see “Speak Monkey Speak,” a tale that blends Shakespearean wit with modern charm, transform into a full-fledged movie! Whether you’re a filmmaker, producer, actor, or a creative soul with a zest for storytelling, Steve invites you to join him on this incredible cinematic journey.
