Grammy-winning rapper Lil Nas X, legal name Montero Lamar Hill, was arrested early Friday morning in Studio City after a chaotic and bizarre scene that unfolded on Ventura Boulevard. The incident began shortly after 4 a.m. when the Los Angeles Police Department responded to calls about a man reportedly walking naked through the streets.

When officers arrived, they discovered the 26-year-old artist, not fully nude but dressed in underwear or shorts and cowboy boots. Witnesses described Lil Nas X as acting erratically, at one point placing a traffic cone on his head. Video later surfaced showing the entertainer in the midst of his street antics, drawing the attention of onlookers and quickly making its way to TMZ.

Police say the situation escalated when Lil Nas X charged at them. He was detained on the spot and transported to a local hospital, where authorities suspected a drug overdose. After medical evaluation, he was released from the hospital and booked at the Van Nuys jail a few hours later. Lil Nas X now faces a misdemeanor charge of battery on a peace officer.

In an unusual move for a misdemeanor arrest, Lil Nas X remains held without bail as of Friday evening. Legal analysts point out the seriousness of the specific charge and potential concerns about his health and safety may explain the decision.

Representatives for Lil Nas X have yet to comment on the incident. The rapper experienced a health scare earlier in April when he suffered partial facial paralysis, which he discussed with fans on social media. His openness about personal struggles—including substance use—has previously drawn public attention.

The LAPD has not released further details as investigations continue. The incident has prompted wide discussion online, highlighting ongoing challenges of celebrity, mental health, and public safety.
