Grammy-winning artist Kid Cudi delivered dramatic testimony in federal court this week, describing music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs as acting “like a Marvel supervillain” during a series of violent and intimidating events tied to Cudi’s brief relationship with Cassie Ventura.

Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, took the stand as a key witness in the ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering trial against Combs. Dressed in a white T-shirt, black leather jacket, and jeans, Cudi recounted how his romance with Ventura in 2011 allegedly provoked Combs’ wrath. He testified that after Combs learned of their relationship, his Hollywood home was broken into, his dog was locked in the bathroom, and, in 2012, his Porsche was destroyed by a Molotov cocktail thrown into the vehicle.

Cudi told the court he believed Combs was responsible for the break-in and the arson, linking the violence to jealousy and control over Ventura. He said the relationship ended out of concern for their safety, stating, “I believed Combs to be violent”.

The most striking moment came when Cudi described a tense meeting with Combs at Soho House in Los Angeles after the car bombing. Cudi testified that Combs stood “with his hands behind his back like a Marvel supervillain,” staring out the window. When Cudi asked, “What are we going to do about my car?” Combs allegedly replied, “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” which Cudi believed was a lie.

“He looked like a Marvel supervillain,” Cudi said, emphasizing the intimidation he felt during the encounter.

Cudi’s testimony supports allegations made by Cassie Ventura and other witnesses, who have described a pattern of threats, violence, and manipulation by Combs. Prosecutors argue these acts are part of a broader criminal enterprise involving sex trafficking, intimidation, and abuse.

Combs’ defense team denies all allegations of arson and violence, maintaining that he had no involvement in the incidents described by Cudi or Ventura.
