Jamie Foxx Reveals Shocking Truth About 2023 Health Scare
Jamie Foxx has finally revealed the details of his life-threatening medical emergency from April 2023. In his new Netflix special, “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…”, the Oscar-winning actor disclosed that he suffered a brain bleed leading to a stroke while filming in Atlanta.
On April 11, 2023, Foxx experienced a severe headache and asked for aspirin. Before he could take it, he blacked out and didn’t regain consciousness for 20 days. Initially misdiagnosed, Foxx’s sister Deidra Dixon recognized the seriousness of his condition and took him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
At the hospital, doctors diagnosed Foxx with a brain bleed that caused a stroke. He underwent emergency surgery and spent weeks in recovery. When Foxx finally woke up on May 4, 2023, he found himself in a wheelchair, unable to walk.
The actor credits his family, particularly his sister and daughter Corinne, for their support during his recovery. Foxx expressed gratitude to the medical staff at Piedmont Hospital, saying they saved his life.
Throughout his recovery, Foxx had to relearn basic functions and relied on nurses for daily needs. Despite the challenges, he maintained his sense of humor, which he believes helped him stay alive.
Now, over a year and a half later, Foxx has made a remarkable recovery. In his Netflix special, he demonstrated his progress by singing, dancing, and playing the piano proving that he has overcome the worst of his health crisis.
